Mood swings got you down? Night sweats keeping you up at night?

A woman is considered in menopause once she has been without a menstrual cycle for 12 consecutive months, usually, between the age of 45-55. As women age, our sex hormones (estrogens, progesterone, and testosterone) begin to decline which is due to ovulation becoming irregular resulting in decreased production of progesterone and estrogen. When a woman reaches menopause, she may experience one of many side effects associated with the decline in hormones.

Common menopause complaints and hormones most likely associated with them:

  • Estrogen: Hot flashes, mood swings, vaginal dryness, night sweats (vasomotor symptoms)
  • Progesterone: Anxiety, trouble sleeping
  • Testosterone: Energy, low sex drive

If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms and would like to take control with a more natural approach, below are a few supplements Potter’s House Apothecary has to offer!
